Summary

Southside Community Farm seeks a detail-oriented and collaborative Financial Administrator & Funding Director to oversee nonprofit financial operations and lead funding strategies. This unique, dual-role position includes budget management, financial administration, payroll, fundraising, and grant coordination. On-the-job training will be provided.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Administration

  • Develop and update budgets in collaboration with staff

  • Track expenses, receipts, and grant allocations using Ribbon

  • Manage bi-weekly payroll and staff onboarding

  • Lead monthly financial check-ins with staff

  • Coordinate with bookkeepers, accountants, fiscal sponsor, and board treasurer

  • Submit financial forms and reports in a timely manner

  • Present financial updates to the board on a quarterly basis

General Administration

  • Monitor and respond to general email inbox

  • Manage and maintain the shared Google Calendar

  • Make follow-up calls as needed

Funding & Grant Management

Fundraising & Donor Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with individual and organizational funders

  • Lead fundraising initiatives including events, raffles, and campaigns

  • Track and manage the organizational funding calendar

Grants

  • Research, draft, and track grant applications and reports

  • Create and manage grant budgets, ensuring spending compliance

  • Keep staff and fiscal sponsor informed of deadlines and reporting requirements

  • Coordinate with grant volunteers and consultants

  • Communicate with grantors and attend related meetings

Team & Organizational Participation

  • Attend weekly staff meetings

  • Participate in collaborative decision-making on wages, funders, and projects

  • Represent the organization at public events (as applicable)

  • Attend quarterly board meetings (typically 5pm evenings)

Schedule & Availability

  • Remote Option: 25 hours/week

  • Local Option (Asheville area): 30 hours/week with occasional in-person event support

  • Flexible work schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours required
